Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT IS DARAISM&ARTISTS?

Daraism&Artists is a collective of artists, curators, and cultural hosts rooted in Siem Reap. We craft immersive experiences that blend hospitality, healing, and heritage—where guests return not just with memories, but with the essence of Cambodianess.

Is this a business or a NOT FOR PROFIT?

Both. We operate as a responsible enterprise, but our heartbeat is PERSONAL GROWTH—yours and the people you meet in our encounters. Every experience is designed to uplift, connect, and transform.

What kinds of experiences do you offer?
  • MEANINGFUL Encounters — e.g., “Immersive Cambodian Way of Life” or “Days in a Lifetime” with Daraism&Artists
  • Endorsed Initiatives — socially responsible travel and solidarity projects
  • Artist-Led Experiences — hosted by trusted members of our collective
  • Cultural Stewardship — programs uplifting youth, arts, and sustainability
WHAT ARE THE LANGUAGES USED?

Most experiences are bilingual—offered in English and/or French. When needed, we engage a trusted facilitator to bridge language between you and our cultural host. This guide not only translates words, but helps carry meaning, tone, and cultural nuance—ensuring your best experience.

Are your experiences suitable for families or groups?

Absolutely. We welcome families, affinity groups, and intergenerational travelers—student learning expeditions, cultural immersion or exchange groups, and solo travelers alike.

Can I customize my experience?

Yes. We love co-creating with guests—adjusting itineraries, adding workshops, or deepening a theme (culinary, spiritual, artistic).

How long do experiences usually last?

Most are half-day engagements—gentle yet meaningful immersions that allow space for reflection and rest. Some extend into full-day formats, and one of our most immersive offerings is the multi-day experience: “Day(s) in a Lifetime with Daraism&Artists.”

Can we speak with you before or after the booking?

Yes—and we encourage it. A live conversation before or after booking helps align intentions and ensure meaningful outcomes.

What about pricing for children?

We warmly welcome children into our experiences, offering 50% pricing for those under 12, and free of charge for little ones under 5. This offer applies when the total contribution meets our minimum threshold for sustainable hosting. If it doesn’t, please reach out—we’ll engage in thoughtful conversation guided by our equity principle.

Do the experiences include meals and beverages?

Some experiences include simple home-cooked meals or light refreshments. In co-created journeys where the culinary element falls outside our cost structure, we’ll engage in open dialogue and co-decide what feels right—honoring both generosity and sustainability.

How does your pricing work?
  • Pay-It-Forward Model: For 1–4 persons, pricing is a lump sum; for 5+, it’s per person—guided by a minimum recommended price.
  • We ensure fair, gainful income for artists and hosts, plus personal and career development.
  • Larger contributions to our “Pay-It-Forward” fund offer access to others.
  • Stewardship Contribution: A portion supports artists and community initiatives.
  • You’re invited to inquire about our contributions—we’ll share insights or our annual report.
  • Please visit our pricing page for more!
Do you offer discounts or scholarships?

Yes, selectively. We prioritize access for Cambodian youth, artists, and values-aligned guests. If the minimum suggested price feels out of reach, contact us—we’ll engage in thoughtful conversation and do our best to arrange something inclusive and meaningful.

What are your payment terms?

We request full payment to confirm your booking. Upon confirmation, you’ll receive an invoice with a secure bank payment link. If you live in Cambodia and use KHQR, we’ll send our QR code. For cancellations:

  • Cancel ≥ 7 days before: Full refund minus banking/processing fee
  • Cancel < 72 hours before: No refund
We approach cancellations with empathy—please contact us directly for compassionate solutions.

When should I book?

We recommend booking 2–4 weeks in advance to ensure availability, especially for seasonal or festival-aligned experiences. Special event-based journeys will be announced on our website and social media—check in from time to time. You might just discover a rare offering waiting for you!
